Glyfada is a beautiful sandy clean beach with shallow waters, water sports as well as diving courses. It’s the most popular organized beach in Corfu, always full of people and a “must” place to visit. All the elite of the island spend most middays of the week, lying on the sunbeds, drinking coronas or cocktails and listen to various Djs. The mountains that surround Glyfada, are full of trails for hikers. Almost next to Glyfada, is the picturesque traditional village of Pelekas. Don’t forget to visit it, in order to enjoy its famous sunset.
Each year, the beach of Glyfada is awarded with Blue Flag. Next to the beach, there is the unique Myrtiotissa’s naked beach. Myrtiotissa is located between the villages of Pelekas and Vatos on the west side of the island. The place is isolated and quite safe, which is one of the reasons why it is the only beach on the island, where nakedness is officially tolerated. Cars are not a good option to reach the particular beach, as there is no parking space. To visit Glyfada, you can choose among:
